Easiest Yeast Bread
Made 2/7/22. Adapted from this recipe! I made this for the first time and ate the whole loaf in one sitting, it was so good.
You will need:
• 3 cups flour
• 1 packet active dry yeast
• 2 tsp kosher salt
• 2 cups warm water
Directions
➀ Dissolve yeast in water in large bowl. Add flour and salt. Mix with the handle of a spoon until wet and lumpy.
➁ Cover with cling wrap, leave on counter for 2-3 hours until it doubles in volume.
➂ Preheat oven to 450° F. Put in dutch oven with lid on 30 minutes prior to baking.
➃ Scrape dough out of the bowl. Using a rubber spatula, fold the slices inward to form a roughly round shape.
➄ Slide a piece of parchment paper next to the dough, then flip dough onto paper, seam-side down.
➅ Place dough in dutch oven, replace lid.
➆ Bake 30 minutes covered, then 12 minutes uncovered.
➇ Cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
• No dutch oven? No problem! Boil water, and put it in a pot next to the dough in a different pan. Bake for 40 minutes.
